Agonda Dolphin Spotting

The South Goa kind of Holiday

Imagine, you are sitting on a not so crowded beach watching sunset and a dolphin jumps up to say ‘Hi’. Agonda village is an amazing place. Nestled in nature and not on the main circuit , this beach provides you all the modern amenities along with solitude. Located approx 80km drive from north goa (vagator or anjuna) , this place is a complete contrast to the chaos in North Goa. Here, you can literally freeze time and relax. The drive from Panjim to Agonda is very picturesque and need not be rushed. The mobile network connectivity is patchy in agonda and there are right kind of distractions to occupy your time. The sea food is fresh and you can see fishermen selling their morning catch . The restaurants have a variety in menu and you can satisfy food cravings. I stayed in Dersy’s Home Stay . They have their own restaurant as well. They make good food and an amazing lemon nana.

Good thing is none of the shacks play loud music and the beach does not have broken glass bottles , so you can run bare feet. The beach is good for swimming but listen to lifeguard when he says it’s time to come out. I am staying here past 4 days and dolphin sighting was one of the major reasons. I visited Palolem in between and the boat ride to butterfly beach was nice. Palolem is slightly more crowded and with better facilities. Tomorrow I move to North Goa again . Till then I am going to enjoy one more day here.
